Early Education Funding and Charges (Nursery)
Our commitment to funded early education
Holy Trinity CE Primary School Nursery offers places funded through the Government’s early education entitlements for 3- and 4-year-olds..
We are committed to ensuring that funded hours are accessible free of charge. This means:
-
We do not charge “top-up” fees in addition to the funded entitlement.
-
We do not require parents/carers to pay any mandatory charges in order to take up a funded place.
-
Families can access their funded entitlement whether or not they choose any additional services.
Funded hours – session patterns
Funded hours can be taken as part of the following session patterns:
Nursery session options:
-
Morning session: [8:45 - 11:45]
-
Afternoon session: [12:15 - 3:15]
-
Full day session: [8:45 - 3:15]
How funded hours can be claimed:
-
15 funded hours can be taken as: AM or PM sessions
-
30 funded hours can be taken as: 5 full days, Mon - Fri
If you would like help deciding the best pattern for your family, please speak to the school office.
Optional additional services (“chargeable extras”)
While the funded entitlement is free, the Department for Education allows nurseries to request payment for optional extras, such as meals and consumables, provided these are not a condition of accessing a funded place.
At Holy Trinity CE Primary School Nursery, the following optional extras may be available:
1) Meals and snacks
Lunch (for children attending 30 hours)
School lunches are available for children attending full days as part of a 30-hour entitlement.
-
Lunch: £2 per day
Snack (all children)
All Nursery children are provided with a daily snack. We ask parents/carers to make a voluntary contribution towards the cost of snacks:
-
Snack contribution: £1 per week
Families may choose not to contribute; this will not affect their child’s Nursery place or access to funded hours.
2) Nursery trips and experiences (optional)
From time to time, the Nursery may offer trips or special experiences (for example visitors or workshops). Where a cost applies, parents/carers will be informed in advance and payment will be requested on a voluntary basis.
-
Trips/experiences: charges will only apply when relevant and will be communicated in advance.
Your right to opt out
All of the above extras are optional.
This means:
-
Parents/carers are free to opt out of any chargeable extras.
-
Children will still be able to attend and access their funded hours.
-
Where appropriate, parents/carers may provide alternatives (e.g., packed lunch / own consumables).
If you would like to opt out of any chargeable extras, please speak to the Nursery team or school office and we will support you with this.
